Subaru Impreza Estate Turbo 2000 4WD 5d (2000/W) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Depends what you are looking for. If you are expecting a luxury which also shifts, looks somewhere else. If you are looking for a true performance bargain, these are perfect.
Costs
My insurance was only about £200 more than a dull Volvo V40. Mpg ranged from 24-31. Range was about 250-310 miles per tank. I suspect you can find a car with similar consumption that's much less 'fun'.

On the road
Driving
The most fun I've had with a car in 18 years of driving.
Performance
You know when the turbo is kicking in as there is a significant kick in the back. Lots of fun, but probably not the best way of doing it. 'A' road overtaking is a breeze. Easy to take it easy if your mum is in the car.

Living with it
Reliability
Never missed a beat. (Skimped on the servicing too)
Image
In the Mica Red it was a stunning car. Does look dated when compared with the 03 models.
Comfort
Several hundred mile sprints with no seat discomfort. Ride is firm without being too hard.
