Subaru Impreza (2007 - 2012) 2.5 WRX S 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Even in standard form the WRXS is epically fast, the turbo means you’re never far from being welded to the back of the seat. MPG varies from 19 - 30 in my experience depending on how you drive, I’ve yet to drive in on track but I’d expect around 15mpg or less there. The suspension is really comfortable, perhaps a bit soft but this doesn’t impair the grip from the hugely confidence inspiring symmetrical all wheel drive system, and an added bonus is it makes this car useable 365 days of the year (with the right tyres) where 2WD rivals may falter. The only let down is the scratchy plastic exterior - my last car was a 2017 BMW 5 Series so it’s a bit of a culture shock, although it’s very functional with lots of cubbys & cupholders. I’ve updated the head unit to a CarPlay touchscreen which does help to make the car feel more modern and if aftermarket modifications are your pleasure there are plenty of options available. I was initially planning to buy an older saloon but I’m really glad I got the hatch - you can fit 2 adult bikes in with the seats down no problem.
For its few forgivable faults lets be honest you‘ll mainly be buying car this for the way it drives and trust me you will not be disappointed.
How reliable do you find the car?
Major service was reasonable bearing in mind I had the cambelt changed too, and there are very few known problems - these cars are designed to be driven hard.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
The WRXS is a driver focused raw car but is more capable than I’d ever realised.About their car
