Summary
What does this car say about you?
I like basic, budget motoring! I don't like to have the same car as everyone else! I.e. the latest Focus or Golf!!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Old! It's just starting to rust a bit as it turns 18years old!
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, I want a change, but I would recommend it to anyone for its reliability.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something a bit bigger but budget, a diesel as I eat up the miles - just bought a Rover 75.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,000
When did you buy the car?
March 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
I got a great deal. It seemed quite expensive to pay a four figure sum (£1000) for a 15 year old car, a rather basic model. But it proved worth every penny.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Has a solid reputation for reliability, I wanted just that!
What was the dealer like?
Was very fair to me, knocked quite a bit off the price.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Grips road well. Chassis is excellent. Could do with a bit more power, but fine for what I wanted it for. Could be a bit easier on the fuel but I probably get high 30's mpg.
What's it like to park?
Quite good, because window size is good, increase vision.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not much at all. The old battery gave way, i think it was the original one! The backbox developed a hole (again an original, I believe). The starter motor needed a new brush heads. I put 70000 miles on the car in about 3 years... and apart from tyres and brakes not much else went wrong! Quite a testimony to quality engineering.
What's most practical about your car?
Its built like a tank. I don't treat my cars with kids gloves, I do a lot of "A-road" and some "B-road" travelling all over the scottish Highlands, about 20,000+ miles a year, very few things broke, in 3 years of hard motoring.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
It was pretty basic. As you will understand when I tell you that my favourite gadget was the internal (beside drivers seat) fuel tank opener!!?
