Value
You will pay a premium for a P1, service intervals are every 6 months or 7,500 miles, service costs and parts are no more than a standard turbo of the same age.
Costs
The official MPG is slightly optimistic, about 24MPG is the max, even on a run.

Driving
Drives superbly and handles well, although the P1 is 'skittish' in the wet. Geometry and suspension need attention for optimum handling.
Performance
Nothing short of fantastic, as quick as some £60K+ sports cars off the line, although mid range is not as strong as it is geared for acceleration, but is still very impressive.

Living with it
Reliability
They are only 3-4 years old, and most are serviced religiously so this should not be an issue. Make sure any modifications are done by reputable Subaru specialists otherwise you could face a costly engine rebuild.
Image
Classic shape Impreza is 'the' Impreza, and in the 2 door coupe is even better. A little OTT for some maybe with its low front splitter, high wing and big wheels, but it can bite as loud as it barks! No Boy Racer special effects here, it all works!
Comfort
Surprisingly comfy, seats are very supportive and hold you well when needed. Lumber support is very good, so you don't feel cramped after a long run. Rear leg room is limited however.

Security and Service
Security
Comes with Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser and RAC Trackstar, although for peace of mind...add more!
Service
The dealer I use is 2nd to none. Always friendly and helpful, never too busy to help. More than happy to buy another car from them.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
None.
Other
None. A very reliable car. You may get some squeaks in the cabin over time, the stiff suspension takes most of the blame for this. Build quality is good, the car feels sturdy and well bolted together.
