Economy
Value
Bought last of 02 bug-eyes, discounted price - but now find that 03 models have free servicing…
Costs
28mpg, £600 insurance (with tracker), 2 x £125 front tyres at 15,000, service every 10,000. But it's what I'd expect - this is not designed to be an economy motor car !

Driving
Excellent. You can drive it fast when you want to, but it's very easy and relaxing to just potter about in as well.
Performance
H-u-g-e grip. Excellent brakes. Tons of power over 3000rpm - but none below it…

Living with it
Reliability
Basic car seems excellent. However the tracker has a persistent fault in that it flattens the battery in 3 days if car not used. Dealer has had it 3 times but still not fixed...
Image
02 bug eye look wasn't appealing, fitted Morette twin lights - £250ish painted/fitted. With these and the fogs, front end really menacing - a pretty/ugly car. Conversation-starter with petrol head men (& women), but most people don't know what it is.
Comfort
Excellent seats and ride quality actually very good indeed for the amount of grip it has. I bought 5-door and it's got lots of practical space in front & boot, but back seats feel confined as front seats so big.

Security and Service
Security
Remote alarm & immobiliser standard, I had tracker fitted from new. My insurer quoted me a price with and a price without - the difference paid for fitting and lifetime contract…
Service
Feel all dealers are expensive and offer poor service, but my Subaru dealer much better than previous experience with Renault, Vauxhall, Citroen, Ford dealers
