Subaru Legacy Tourer (2009-2013) boot space, practicality and safety
The Legacy is the first Subaru for some time to be crash tested by Euro NCAP (previous models have relied on US crash tests instead) and scored a full five stars.
As you’d expect there’s plenty of safety kit, including six airbags, an electronic stability programme and emergency brake assist. When it comes to security, all cars have an alarm and immobiliser, while top models benefit from keyless entry and start.
Subaru Legacy safety has also been scored highly in Japanese collision tests, the Legacy being named Japan’s safest car in 2010.
Subaru Legacy practicality is the car’s key feature. With the rear seats in place, there’s up to 526 litres of luggage space available, which can be expanded to 1,677 litres – more than enough for the needs of most families.
It’s easy to load too. Under the boot floor there’s a hidden storage compartment – ideal for storing smaller items or keeping valuables out of view. Inside the cabin there are large door bins, armrest storage and dashboard cubbies, the number of which varies depending on whether satellite navigation is fitted or not.
