Subaru Levorg Sport Tourer (2015 - 2022) 1.6 GT 5d Lineartronic Owner Review

In their own words
This is my third Subaru but first from new, and the first car I have ever owned with a turbocharger. Likes: The handling; the responsive 1.6 litre engine, especially in "S" mode; the four-wheel drive grip; the instrumentation showing acceleration and turbo boost; the navigation system; the carrying capacity; the exhaust note above 2,000 rpm; the general quality of build. Dislikes: It's not quite as frugal on fuel as I hoped, even with limited use of Sport mode; the infotainment system takes some learning; the seats are meant for somewhat slimmer people than myself; the suspension can be a bit bouncy on uneven roads; road noise can be intrusive. It feels considerably lighter on the road than the previous Legacy models I owned (a Gen IV saloon and the Gen V tourer, both with the EJ25 engine) and seems more nimble and eager. It's a lot more fun to drive than the Legacy but somehow feels less "planted" on uneven surfaces. Reviews of the Lineartronic CVT transmission in other models have been less than complimentary, but I rather like it and the paddle-shifting in "manual" mode is unbelievably slick. The occasional whistle of the turbo on boost, and the whirr of the CVT at low speeds are pleasing to my ears. It's definitely the best of the nine cars I have owned.
