In their own words

Previously had a 2014 2.0TD XV before our current 2017 2.0P and just put a deposit down on a 2020 Hybrid. They are honest vehicles and I can't fault them. No flash, no bling, they simply and without drama, do what they say on the tin, and both ours have been super reliable. Not even a bulb has required replacing! The mechanical AWD system is great offroad and reasuring on it.

As for reliablity, both ours have required ZERO visits to the dealer for anything other than routine servicing. That is over over 160k miles between them! One recurring theme on both of ours is that the rear wheel bearings don't seem to last much beyond 80k miles. They are not expensive to replace and I recommend doing them in pairs to avoid the extra labour charges.

I notice the write up stated the Rav 4 and a pick up as alternatives but the real beauty for our requirements is the XV's diminutive size. The two alternatives the review mentoned are huge in comparison!. The XV is perfect for navigating narrow lanes, farm tracks, and the occasional muddy field. Which is pretty much all we have here in rural North Wales.

Our current 2017 petrol CVT has long term averaged 36mpg
