Suzuki Grand Vitara Estate (1998-2005) interior, tech and comfort

The interior looks disappointingly cheap, with lots of grey and black plastic, and twee seat material. The driving position is good – high up, with good visibility. The steering wheel height can be adjusted and most have seat-height adjustment. All major controls are logically placed and easy to reach.
A tale of two cars here. Both have supportive seats, the squabs are quite spongy. The three-door has limited legroom in the back and will only seat two. The five-door is much better, with adequate legroom for two (although there’s not enough room for three adults). Rearest seats in the seven-seater XL-7 are for children only.
