Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I was daft to have bought it.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
OK
Would you buy this car again and why?
No way- far too unreliable and the DPF is the most idiotic thing to have on a 4x4. Dealer did not tell me about it. Would not have gone near it if I knew about it. Don't ever fall for the Japanese/ Reliability thing, the GV has a Renault engine which is a massive weak point.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something German that is reliable and works.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£13,000
When did you buy the car?
December 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
It was an OK deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed a 4x4.
What was the dealer like?
Good Service to buy the car from- different when dealing with to get fixed.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's OK, long journeys not that comfy- but you always have a horrible feeling it is going to break down! Gears don't match the engine and it revs too much at high speed.
What's it like to park?
Fine- has reversing sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes. I bought the car to tow with and looked for a boat for about a year. Went to get the tow bar fitted and was told the car was too rusty to have one fitted safely (4 years old!!)- Dealer and Suzuki not interested. Also, whilst driving across the scottish borders in the middle of nowhere- start motor just exploded. Don't get me started about the DP filter- why, why, why put it on a 4x4? Basically means you can never go offloading- so don't ever buy this car for that purpose.
What's most practical about your car?
Again 4x4.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Nothing. Other than being a cheap 4x4 (that you can't really go off road in due to DPF) it is rubbish.
