Suzuki Ignis SUV 1.2 Dualjet SZ5 AGS auto 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
This is a retirement car - it was not bought to do a high mileage or carry heavy loads long distances. It was bought to carry 2 plus dog, occasional 4. Driver assistance and auto box were priorities. We have had Toyotas before but there is now no Toyota meets our needs. It has proven more than adequate for the job. There has been no trouble in keeping up on motorways, and it is very usable in town. One thing to be aware of is that this is a small N/A engine made by a company best known for motorcycles, and the rpm will be higher than in many modern cars - though the engine is not noisy. The Bosch assistance system is generally accurate and the reversing camera guidelines easily allow camera only reversing. The LED headlights are the best I have used in a driving history that includes all 3 major German makes. Telephone integration works well, if a little slow. The satnav worked perfectly when Google Maps had an outage. The seats are reasonably comfortable. Driver visibility is very good. The rear windows are actually electric, unusual in such a small car. The roof rack is easily able to cope with planks or my small canoe. Safety features - the central locking allows boot only, driver door only or all doors, good nowadays when crime is increasing. The AGS gearbox took about a thousand miles to run in. It seems to be designed to echo what I would call a "smooth" driver, and I rarely notice its changes except double down changes on a steep hill. Hesitant or jerky drivers may make it lose its composure, something that is concealed by slushboxes - at the expense of poor fuel consumption. It has been replaced by a CVT. I don't mind CVTs but I do not think they are any better.
