Economy
Value
If purchased second-hand, you can really take advantage of the fast rate at which this car depreciates and make a super saving compared to other similarly-sized cars.
Costs
Excellent fuel economy, but parts pricey when they are needed (which is not very often).

On the road
Driving
3-cylinder engine is very entertaining: it emits an enthusiastic thrum which makes it sound like a much more powerful car. Very nippy considering the small size of the engine and 5th gear excellent for motorway cruising. Only downside: jarring ride!
Performance
For this size of engine, you cannot complain. Very nippy, can hold its own on a motorway and super economy.

Living with it
Reliability
Very dependable. Will not let you down as long as you maintain it.
Image
Anonymous image, appreciated only by the discerning few. 3-door looks a lot more sporty than the 5 door. GTi and Sky editions do have street credibility. Colour choice can make all the difference.
Comfort
Seats very comfortable, let down only by a harsh ride.

Security and Service
Security
As good as any other for this age. Anonymity means this isn't on the car thieves' lists.
Service
Thoroughly competent.
