Summary
What does this car say about you?
I was constantly told it was girls car, I felt it was more of a student car, although I did get it when I was a student.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
It looked very nice clean and polished up, but they wouldn't want to volunteer for a long motorway trip in the back seat regularly.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, to small for my current situation and became very creaky and rattly as time went on.
What are you likely to buy next?
I bought a Mazda 3.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£7,200
When did you buy the car?
May 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Not really, could have bought a brand new 1.3 for the price paid also no discount for cash. However I needed a car badly and it lasted me 6 years so certainly didn't owe me any money by the time I sold it.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Previous Fiat had catastrophic engine failure so wanted something japanese.
What was the dealer like?
Interested in the sale only, however once I bought it it got serviced at the original supplying dealer who were very helpful every time I used them.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Baby hot hatch, engine was always my favourite bit and it had surprising amounts of grip although as it got older the suspension became very baggy.
What's it like to park?
Very easy, stubby bonnet, flat boot, short length, big mirrors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Problem child for the 1st 18 months of having it, gearbox and drive shaft seals, rear wheel bearing, new 5th gear fitted, 4 x front wishbones. Then after the warranty ran out absolutely faultless, only thing that wasn't "wear and tear" in my eyes was the brake pipes that had to be replaced for an MOT at 7 years old. Oh and an aircon pipe leaked, however as it was right at the back of the engine bay repairing it was not worth the effort/money.
What's most practical about your car?
Cabin space, big for a small car unlike the boot which is the opposite.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Keyless entry.
