Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'd like to say that it means I do my research but it didn't really workout for me! But other than that, that I bothered about what a car can do, rather than how it's percieved.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
That it's cute, functional.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No! It's just not as good as I'd been led to believe. I know things go wrong. But the gear box is pretty important to the car's integrity. And the dealer's treatment (or lack of) of the issue has put me right off. Besides it's a sub £10k car and it shows on the less obvious details and components.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something of the same size; Golf, Focus etc.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£9,995
When did you buy the car?
September 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Low deposit, low monthyly payments
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
What was the dealer like?
Neither good nor bad at first. Don't really think they have any trouble selling these cars. So he never really tried to push me.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Can I mention the gear box again!? It's a smooth car, nice acceleration and braking. It's quiet on the motorway. Good steering. But the clutch is high and it's easy to over rev.
What's it like to park?
Easy. The steering is light and there's little or no over hang to confuse you.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes. Afraid so. The gear box is a nightmare. Within the first month it became obvious that changing down at junctions, roundabouts etc was impossible - 2nd gear just isn't there. The gears just become stuck. It's an ongoing problem.
What's most practical about your car?
Space for the size, it's nippy on the motorway when needed. But the terrible gear box ruins it in town, which is where it 'lives'.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Not really got any. But the audio controls on the steering wheel are natty.
