Summary
What does this car say about you?
Safe, and likely considered boring! Image, is perhaps of an 'old' persons car?
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They would not buy one, most are young, and image concious! They tend to use the VW range.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No! Would have considered another Suzuki, but what has put me off is that I believe some Suzuki models are now built in India (The Dealers wont tell you that!). The SX4 seemed expensive to run, and had heavy value depreciation. Also high petrol consumption, not near the official figures given. Expensive road tax. Slightly uncomfortableto drive, and not in my opinion to the interior standards of previous Suzuki I have owned. Poor build quality. Nearest Dealer is now over 30 miles away. Expensive servicing at Suzuki, last service cost over 385 pounds! Fnally, tyre wear seems heavy, especially at the front! Goes through tyres fast.
What are you likely to buy next?
Toyota, especially as they now offer a comprehensive, extended, 5 year warranty!! In fact am awaiting delivery of a new Toyota as we 'speak'.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£10,150
When did you buy the car?
August 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Reasonable? Trade in for the 1 year old, low mileage Suzuki given in, was not very good. Hindsight is wonderful!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Previously owned many Suzuki cars, over 35 years. From Vitara to Swift, and most in between! The best I ever owned was a Suzuki Baleno!
What was the dealer like?
This Suzuki dealer had other Car franchises (Honda, Mitsubushi, etc) also on it multi showroom complex. As a result they didnt seem at all interested, or knowlegable, with Suzuki sales at all! Within 18 months the Suzuki franchise had departed this Dealers site!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
A bit like driving a brick! Slow at pulling away. Seems to corner poorly, likely because of its height. Petrol consumption poor, not as good as the official figures given. Comfortable cruising on the motorway, but can be hard work in city traffic. There is a possibly dangerous 'blind spot' behind the pillar at the front quarter lights, to the windscreen. This has caught us out a few times!
What's it like to park?
Fine to park, though a bit heavy. Very east to scuff the wheels.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Front bushes had to be renewed quite early on. The car stalls sometimes while idling, and if not given excessive acceleration when pulling away. Wiper blades had to be replaced within 5,000'. Various bulbs blow regularly. A few contnual (irritating) rattles, and creaks. (Car always serviced at Suzuki, but they seem unable to correct some of these minor, niggling problems}
What's most practical about your car?
High driving position, and good space.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Suzuki Parts.....Rear tailgate sill protector, Boot liner, Seat covers, and Roof bars were fitted by Suzuki at the time of purchase. These I consider to be essential, and have done very well, helping to protect the vehicle over past two years.
