In their own words

Great car but not sure about Tesla as a company......

Would say that overall I am really happy with the car. Any concerns I had about going electric were quickly forgotten about. The facelifted car is a real step up from the original Model 3 in terms of interior quality. You quickly get used to quirks like indicators on the steering wheel etc

Things that stand out about the car for me are the performance (not that I drive fast everywhere - but it is just so effortless to drive), the efficiency and range compared to other similar cars and the level of standard equipment.

Its not perfect though the front seats are definitely built to a price - I dont find them as comfortable as on cars half the price and the adaptive cruise isnt great either. For example - on the dual carriageway, a car ahead of me was approaching the give way on a minor road. My car jammed on the brakes at 70mph as it thought a crash was about to happen but the othe car wasnt pulling out. Luckily noone behind me. Thats happened 2 or 3 times in 10k miles.

My main issue with the car though is Tesla aftersales. I took my car in to dealership for a steering wheel vibration at six months old which you book through the app without ever having to speak to anyone. This is prob fine for new tyres or getting a service but when you dont know whats wrong and the options on the app dont reflect that - you really want to speak to someone. The app generates a price for the work which then doubled the night before I took it in (presumably a mechanic reviewed my comments).
I was then told the car had 4 bent wheels and they all needed replaced at my own cost. I declined the repair because I didnt believe all 4 could be damaged - again this was all through messaging on the app when I really wanted to speak to someone (The car is dropped off and picked up without going into the service center as there are no car keys)
I would estimate that repair to be about £2.5k. I never got a price despite requesting it (prob as they knew i wasnt going for it). No info was provided on the extent of the damage for the price I paid and the car wasnt even cleaned (not important but gives a good indication as to the effort the service centre put into sorting me out). Tesla customer services not interested.
Anyway I took the car to a wheel specialist who fixed two dented wheels for £250!!!!! The other two wheels didnt need repaired.
Potentially the heft of the car on 19" wheels does make it more prone to pothole damage.

I have said that I wouldnt recommend the car but the truth is I think the car is great - it is Tesla as a company that I would actively avoid in the future.
The aftersales experience has been poor so far (admittedly early days) and I wont be rushing back to that dealership (Be warned that some independents i approached for the wheels wont work on a tesla because of the quirks - Chipsaway for example). Fortunately these cars dont need a lot of maintenance and running costs are very low.
