Toyota Auris (2007 - 2013) 1.33 Dual VVTi TR 5d Owner Review

In their own words
I bought this car as a cheap run around for £750 as I started a new job and now have a 16 mile round trip to work.
The journey is town traffic and slow A roads all the way. The car is spot on for this journey. Comfortable, 5 doors and has a surprisingly big boot. These engines gave timing chains too, so no cambelts to worry about.
I was looking at Ford Fiestas around the same age as my Toyota but most were suffering from bad corrosion on the rear sills, plus they are quite expensive for what they are. I only wanted one for the heated windscreen but wasn't prepared to pay a relatively high price for a rusty, battered heap.
The biggest surprise of this Toyota is how effortless it is when I take it on the motorway. Once the engine has spun up to 70/75 it just sits there. Throw in the fairly soft, comfortable ride, no rattles or bangs, and it shows capability beyond what you'd expect and the mpg shows a reasonable improvement too.
A great little car.
