Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not much really, just to say that I prefer cars which are reliable and economical.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Not much really, just a sensible vehicle.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, because of the very reason that the automatic gearbox is very poor and this is despite me having it calibrated, at an additional cost. Also servicing and aftercare at my dealership was not up to standard, which I would expect from Toyota.
What are you likely to buy next?
Jaguar

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The drive in slow traffice is very poor indeed and the automatic gearbox is incredibly bad despite me putting it into "ES" sport mode. In fact it makes me nauseous. It is noisy at high speeds and the fuel consumption is very poor indeed and I rarely get a return above 35miles/gal.
What's it like to park?
Parking is fine, as I have had parking sensors fitted, as an optional extra.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The automatic gearchange is very poor and on the ocassion sticks in gear and I have to go into manual mode to try and release it. I have returned to Toyota and they maintain there is nothing wrong and I didn't know how to drive an automatic. Notwithstanding the fact that my 3 previous cars were Toyotas and automatic, which I found very condescending. Gear change is very poor.
What's most practical about your car?
It size and the boot space.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The semi-automatic (flappy-paddle) gearchange is very good and this overriding feature makes the driving bearable.
