Toyota Auris (2007 - 2013) 1.6 VVTi TR 5d Owner Review

The good points are,, excellent space inside,good heater, easy starting. The bad points, terrible gear ratios,( I seldom use 4th gear, 5th gear is too low, engine showing 3000 revs at 60 mph, so poor fuel figures . Y pillars at windscreen cause dangerous blind spots, poor castor action means constant corrections, hard rear suspension does not give soft ride. gear notifications do not take account of road levels. No mention in handbook of exhaust specifications. ( Ex mechanic, holder of motor technology certificates ) Previously a Volvo owner, so I may be biased, but I do believe the newer models have addressed most of these issues . However, this car has put me off ever buying another Toyota .
