Summary
What does this car say about you?
I want a reliable hatchback that looks sporty without stretching my wallet.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all like it, looks pretty sporty and one can never complain if a car of this class is their first at a young age!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Well, I would probably go for a petrol as I mainly do city driving and am a low mileage driver. I may buy one again but with larger alloys and a few more creature comforts.
What are you likely to buy next?
Depends, definitely one with higher performance levels!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The engine is the same power output as in the last generation - 90bhp & 151 lb/ft torque. I think it’s a decent engine. On paper it looks sluggish but it has decent acceleration - just need to be in the right gear for it to pull. However on the motorway it's slightly noisy and the 6th gear is set such that you need to be doing at least 75mph for it to cruise otherwise the car will tell you to change down with the indicator thing. A word of warning regarding fuel economy, I mainly do city driving and drive like I’ve stolen the car so I get 33mpg which is horrific considering this is a 1.4 diesel. If you do a mixture of driving you should get better mpg.
What's it like to park?
Very easy thanks to reversing camera.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It's only had one recall (no charge) in my ownership so far. I have however complained about the car occasionally hesitating to go into reverse and 1st gear at times, the dealer adjusted the cable for free as part of the 5 year warranty. Though the issue still remains.
What's most practical about your car?
Seats fold down, decent boot and there are a few decent cubby spaces for your small items.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Icon trims adds many lovely gadgets. My favourite includes the reversing camera and bluetooth. The stop/starts system is fantastic and the touchscreen intuitive. Follow me home headlight proves useful though I never use the hill hold feature.
