Toyota Auris Touring Sports (2013 - 2019) 1.6 D-4D Business Edition TSS 5d Owner Review

This car is for the family, work, short journeys long journeys, food shopping it does it all. The underside is mostly incased in plastic and is showing no signs of rust. Oil changes are very quick clean and easy. The BMW engine I was a bit dubious is light responsive and has plenty of grunt to pull it fully loaded out of a junction quickly. The oil filter is a cartridge in the top, and very easy to change. It starts very quickly when cold and so far runs faultless in all weather. The fuel economy where I am never goes below 40mpg and that is lots of cold short journeys up steep hills, which it glides up effortlessly. I would describe handling as balanced and competent and requires little input or effort to drive smoothly on country roads or motorways. The Toyota touch to go infotainment system handles my phone, music and satnav in a very competent way, it's not flashy or gimmicky and I've not had the urge to throw it out the window. Tires are well sized to be affordable and seems to be very kind on them. Reversing camera is very good. It complements the mirrors which are also good without looking like trying to land an aircraft. Gearbox is very nice, good ratios and positive action. I do like the looks and the lights are good at night, foglights are a complete waste of time , as is the traction control which I'm told it has. Somewhere. Road holding even in the rain and ice (with correct tires) is great, always able to feel what the car is doing and that makes it safer to me. It is such a good all rounder I challenge anyone who wants as little of their hard earned money going on trivial running costs to do better for what this car costs second hand. I first considered this car to be the equivalent of a washing machine it's there to do a job if it goes wrong get rid but it's more of a faithful multi tool.
