Toyota Auris Touring Sports (2013 - 2019) 1.8 Hybrid Active 5d CVT Owner Review

In their own words
The car is surprising, over the past year it has averaged 55mpg done by recording the miles and litres put in. It is more economical than my wife's Dacia Sandero. Even on trips to Cornwall fully loaded with 5 adults and a bike on the back it exceeded 52 mpg. It has never broken down and is quite comfortable. Yes it is a bit bland and characterless but does the job in an understated fashion. If power is needed use the power button but the engine gets noisy. A different driving style is needed to get the most out of a hybrid, something my wife struggles with but then she us a faster driver than me. My biggest criticism would be the annoying bleep when in reverse gear which is louder than the bleeb from the reversing sensor rendering them useless. There is a reversing camera which is useful for parking tight to walls etc. I've only used the self parking a couple of times (mainly to impress the kids). If you want an economical estate car then it is worth a look. Personally I would only consider another hybrid for my next car, just need to convince the wife to get one.
