The Parkers Verdict
The Toyota Auris Touring Sports is the definition of a head purchase – this is not a car you’ll long to drive on your favourite road, but it will satisfy your budget spreadsheet.
While it handles well enough, it’s not a place you would want to be for extended periods. It is however cheap to run and relatively practical thanks to its quick folding seats and large luggage potential.
There is something slightly at odds with packing an estate car to the gunwales and then attempting to eke out maximum mpg from its hybrid engine, however, if you want load-lugger that makes as small an environmental dent as possible, this Auris is well worth a look.
