Real poser, more interested in the badge than the car. RIGHT! Who cares!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
No idea.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No way! Not a pre 2006 VVTI. Steer well clear unless it has had the "secret" Toyota recall work done on the small engine. Soon as the gear box starts "ticking" or making any odd noise get the bearing sorted or order a scrap one.
What are you likely to buy next?
Vauxhall Astra,Toyota Avensis MKII 2006 on, Skoda Octavia.

Broken down Avensis 7AFE.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Never felt as dependable as the 7AFE it replaced. Developed a gearbox tick which eventually lead to compete gear box failure. Also developed the Avensis high oil consumption problem that means it is now scrap. Bought low milage so didn't become apparent till around 80,000 miles then went very bad very quick.
What's most practical about your car?
Typical boring Avensis, boringly dependable (till later).
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Really old Sat Nav as it wa amusing to listen to wildly out of date instruction.
