Toyota Avensis Hatchback (2003 - 2008) 2.0 D-4D T Spirit 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Two weeks on and Im still amazed by the value of this car - Understated car of the decade?? Its reliable, buiilt SO well, It sips fuel, lovely after a service, fully loaded, whats not to like? Surprised people bother with Vauxhalls, Fords these days. Wind noise a little hgh at 70mph+ around the window frame but none anywhere else. Its fulyl equipped, smooth and refined, and it’s a Toyota meaning it's built to WORK, everytime. Mine was underpriced due to the fact theyre a) not the people first choice when they think ‘saloon’, there aren’t that many about, and those that are have 200+miles on the clock – fine if you want to avoid a fiesta with these miles but a Toyota, its barely worn. My interior is like a brand new car and it cleans up lovely. The kids say its like a limo in the back, I can see why these are used for taxis, they're cheap, but well made, reliable and refined. Its nice to drive something different to the usual bmw/merc offerings, but without a) the ongoing terrible costs, the b) predictability factor (oh wow you bought german *yawn* and c) I like the smug feeling of driving something bulletproof in a world where most cars are built badly with poor materials. That and it looks modern even as an 03 plate. If this does me proud, im going for another one straight after - I got this because of the Celica and MR2 my fiance had, I had to check out their saloon when the volvo gave up, now Im converted. Lifes too busy and stressful for badly made cars, I for one have had enough of them in the past - no 'performance' keeps you happy as reliability does long term.
