What does this car say about you?

Probably that I'm dull and a non-car enthusiast. But that's fine by me as I don't care what other people think of my car choice - I know it's a good car that's enjoyable to drive.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

We often get comments like "This is a nice, big, solid car", and "It feels really well put together". People generally seem to find it a very nice car to travel in.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. Although there have been a few minor niggles such as rattling trim - which I didn't expect from a Toyota - it has so far proved 100% reliable and whilst it's perhaps not exciting to drive it's very pleasant to drive. It also has excellent safety ratings which is important to me.

Another Avensis.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes. Think dealer was at the time of month when they need to meet a sales target as the car seemed very well priced.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Toyota reputation for reliability.

What was the dealer like?

Same as any other dealer really, as in I wouldn't trust them further than I could throw them.

What's it like to drive?

Overall it is nice to drive. The handling is pretty soft so you don't get the urge to throw it into corners fast, but the ride is comfortable. Engine, road and wind noise are all pretty acceptable. The best thing about it is the grunt from the diesel engine which makes for good acceleration and effortless overtaking and motorway cruising. A car that happily accelerates uphill in 6th gear is an enjoyable experience.

What's it like to park?

Fine. I had parking sensors fitted when I bought it and these have proved very useful. Visibility is good and the car has a good turning circle.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Only minor niggles. A panel under the engine is not properly attached and rattles at certain speeds. Some of the dashboard illumination has failed. Occasional minor trim rattles.

What's most practical about your car?

Big boot.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Rear parking sensors are good. The in built Sat Nav is very basic but generally works well.
