Toyota Avensis Hatchback (2003 - 2008) 2.0 D-4D TR 5d Owner Review

This is one of the worst cars I have ever owned from a company that marketed the best built cars in the world at the time. The cars faults in one year: 1. The egr clogs. 2. The egr then fails in the open position causing all emissions back into the inlet manifold. 3. The injectors went. 4. The wiper linkage broke because the parts are made of PLASTIC. Yes you read right, plastic. 5. The back caliper seized. 6. Excessive burning oil. For a company that stops production on a fault, they are clearly slow to take the hint and stop production to fix these faults. The egr is a denso mess that is a dirt magnet causing the excessive oil burn and injector failure and has been in this model for its entire life. Ruins everything good about the car really. It's been in the garage 6 times in a year.
