Toyota Avensis Saloon (2009 - 2018) 2.0 D-4D Excel 4d Owner Review

Dislike - very thin paint, removal of bird droppings using a cloth caused permanent light scratching and elsewhere the paint is very easily chipped. Sat nav painfully slow to enter data then find a signal and plugging into the USB to charge equipment forces the stereo to read music from that which is fine, but keeps doing it after you have selected another media option. Fuel consumption much lower than expected at 44MPG average (motorway driver). Toyota finance - very badly advised with limited mileage and very high APR. Now the car at 2.5 years old is worth less than 1/3rd of purchase price so will never buy another Toyota. Am paying thousands to move the car on due to the mileage. Good points - very comfortable, fixed price servicing but don't ask Toyota to state what the service interval is as I asked several times and never did get a straight answer - I have done mine with the high motorway mileage I do, once every year. Reversing camera good but obvs have to keep the lens clean and the sat nav screen is unreadable if there is any sun on it. When I first got the car I had to remove the audio beeping when there was any suggestion of a speed camera - sounds useful, but beeps loudly where there are no cameras but possibly once a police van sited so gets annoying very very quickly and again Toyota couldn't advise on what it was or how to remove it. Am still waiting a projected settlement figure from them that I requested 4 working days ago, they say they will respond in 48 hours. Never again, loved my Celica but the depreciation of the Avensis like a rock out of a plane means I will never look at them or Lexus in the future.
