Toyota C-HR SUV 1.8 Hybrid Excel 5dr CVT Owner Review

In their own words
I hate this car, I really do! Sorry.
It drives well but there are a number of things about the design that really hack me off.
The Toyota variable automation transmission is horrible. Even slight pressure on the power and the engine revs go through the roof and on an up and down hilly road the engines revs are all over the place. Sounds like i just shifted down from 6th the 3rd.
The proximity alert system is dangerous. It will slam on the emergency brake if it thinks you are going to hit an object. While driving along a 30mph road it slammed the brakes on when it detected a van approaching from a side road. The van had just come to a halt. This was not good in a line of traffic all flowing at 30mph. On a slippery road this is dangerous.
There is no room or storage in the back. We have to slide the front passenger seat forward to fit a baby seat in the back. As grandparents the seat is in and out of the car frequently.
It beeps at just about anything. So many that i have almost given up wondering what that last one was for. We've had it 6 months and only yesterday i had to go online to find out why it sometimes beeps 4 or 5 times when i lock it.
We have been Toyota owners for many years and had 8 different vehicles including land cruiser, Aygo, Avensis & Yaris. Loved them all until now. This is the last one
