Toyota Celica Coupe GT 3d (1995/N) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Not cheap to buy but coming down in price. Very reliable don't buy parts from Toyota though if it's an import- they rip you off even though the car's nearly the same.
Costs
No major problems - had a major service without any big deal - sailed through all 3 MOT's it had. Imports run best on Optimax though so expensive fuel costs.

Driving
Very forgiving if you overcook things. Comfortable seats. Slightly poor visibility due to long bonnet and rear spoiler.
Performance
Not great from a standing start - the Celica's gearbox is for motorway cruising - you have to hit high revs to get the best response - good mid-range acceleration though. Sounds good with a performance exhaust.

Living with it
Reliability
I honestly can't fault it. It's always started and never shown any signs of giving up.
Image
Despite what the review from Parkers says, this car gets a lot of attention - it sounds cheesy but people come up to me in the street and say ""nice car""!
Comfort
I like it although the missus complains it's a hard ride.

Security and Service
Security
Mine's an import so I had to have an alarm and immobiliser installed.
Service
Toyota in Berkshire won't touch imports hence I had to go to a specialist - pretty pathetic really. Oh and they overrcharge you for import parts even though they're the same.
