Summary
What does this car say about you?
Never given it much thought.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They live in a state of disbelief that every morning the 18 year old behemoth sparks into life first time in exactly the same way after the starter has turned over exactly three times.
Would you buy this car again and why?
We've changed and moved on, but a good one could still be great motoring for someone.
What are you likely to buy next?
A Skoda Superb. Hoping for similar reliability from something a bit cheaper than a Toyota.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,750
When did you buy the car?
January 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, because an old Toyota is a better long term prospect than most cars new.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
What was the dealer like?
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Wonderful. Engine can either be a lazy torquey pussycat or wound up to a high revving monster. And this is before vvt and vvtl!
What's it like to park?
Funny shape, but you learn.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
At 17 years of age we had to source an abs pump from a scrap yard for 120 quid.
What's most practical about your car?
Bought as a first car for my then fiancée, now wife :-). Yes, first car. Remember this is back in 2006 so abs to help a novice driver was important. Lots of torque means it is difficult to stall and forgiving of wrong gears. You can pull away in fourth. And it has never needed a clutch and is nowhere near needing one.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Everything mechanical. Brilliant indestructible Yamaha developed engine and indestructible everything else.
