Value
Excellent value when compared with producers of cars with similar performance.
Costs
Good insurance rating. Running and servicing costs are excellent value.
-
On the road
Driving
Headroom a little restrictive, particularly if above average height.
Performance
Gear ratios need to be adjusted for better driver performance.
-
Living with it
Reliability
As expected from the whole Toyota range.
Image
Certainly eye-catching body styling, both inside and out.
Comfort
Very comfortable, unless you are relegated to the back seats and not larger than the average 10 year old. I do not like leather covered seats in any car and would have preferred a choice of quality fabric covered seats.
-
Security and Service
Security
Good quality alarm, immobiliser and deadlocks.
Service
The car has been fully serviced twice since I purchased it. The servicing costs are very reasonable every 12000/12 months (under £200).

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
The engine needs to be used in the upper RPM range to achieve good acceleration. However, when the VVTI kicks in at 6000rpm there is an excellent response.
Other
To obtain the levels of build quality, performance and reliabilty enjoyed by Celica 190 owners would cost £1000s more from any other 'performance' car manufacturer.
