Toyota Celica Coupe (1999 - 2006) 1.8 VVTi 3d Owner Review

In their own words
Has it's pros and cons, worth buying although need to carefully consider the version you'd plan on getting.
Pros; Variety of version were made to fit the needs of the customer. Fairly powerful car even with a standard 1.8L VVT-I engine. Responsive steering and good handling. Looks good, more expensive than it actually is. Comfortable. Good features such as leather interior, sunroof.
Cons; Pre 2005 models have an issues with oil and it's consumption. The car tends to use as much oil as fuel so you need to be aware of the oil level that's in your car on day to day basis. Needs to be maintained quite often. Parts aren't cheap.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
The car has mostly surprised me on; Handling, power, comfort and looks. The handling on this car is good. Due to the car having lower centre of gravity from the factory, it does perform great at corners and stick to road like on rails. Even though I've had the standard 1.8L VVT-I engine, the car was quite quick. It was always fun to drive. It's a 5 seater car which you could say might be practical, although the fact is that there's very little space for passengers at the back. Drivers and front passenger sides are nicely designed to give the best comfort and spaciousness as it possibly could. Fair leg room for the driver. The design of the inside is very nicely done too, such as the full leather seats, smaller steering wheel, the dash is simple but it has all you would need to be honest, without all the unnecessary buttons or dials. The car itself looks more expensive than it actually is. There's downside to this car, and the major one on the Celica's that were produced before 2005, which is the oil consumption. The car uses as much oil as it uses fuel so you need to always be aware of the oil level on your car and you have to always check its oil level before and after the journeys you'll do. The parts aren't cheap either so keeping it well maintained is a must on those cars.About their car
