Summary
What does this car say about you?
Haha I suppose it says im a bit of a poser, when I am cruising around on a warm summers day with the window down and the shades on!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all love the looks! however, not a lot of people can say they like being in the back as its cramped, and also it is hard for older people to get in and out of.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not! I have had one now so I would look for something else next time, maybe a hot hatch or something like that. I don't plan on changing for a couple of years yet though!
What are you likely to buy next?
I don't plan on changing for a couple of years yet. maybe a Megane RS, Auris T180, Accord, GT86, im not sure, I will just have to see what notion takes me in a couple of years.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£3,750
When did you buy the car?
March 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Because of the low mileage I believe I got a good deal, considering other cars for the same money and similar age had at least double the miles on the clock.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Loved the looks, plus the car only had 30,000 miles at time of purchase. it was also cheaper for me to insure than a Mk4 VW Golf diesel which was another option I had in mind.
What was the dealer like?
Independent seller, and she was great!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fantastic! the car never seems to run out of grip in corners, and even though it is only the 140bhp version, this is plenty of power as it is quite light. when the "v-tec" kicks in there aren't many cars that will leave it sitting. also, even though the exhaust is standard, there is a nice note off it in the high rpm, and when you want to cruise it is quiet and composed! it is very economical also on long runs, however around town it is thirsty! I average 350-400 miles per tank of petrol. all the controls are well within the drivers reach which is good also and driving position is perfect.
What's it like to park?
Easy! I have a rear spoiler on mine, so this is a perfect guide for reversing. the wing mirrors are also quite large so it is easy to see all around you in fact, I find it easier to park than a Ford Fiesta!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Unfortunately yes there have been a few small issues. The shocks are worn out and are in need of replacement especially on the front as they are quite hard and the roads are bumpy where I live. this car would be more suited to smooth roads than country roads also, it is hard on the brakes. any mechanic I have spoken to has told me that these cars have issues with brake callipers sticking, meaning the brakes wear down very quickly! in a year, I have replaced 2 callipers, went through 2 sets of pads, and I have just replaced the disks for the second time there last week! and the parts aren't cheap either!
What's most practical about your car?
This car really isn't a car for practicality, so if this is something you look for in a car I would advise you look elsewhere! it is quite hard to get in and out of (even for me a young person) as it is quite low, and the rear seats are definitely not made for anyone over 5 foot 8. the boot is quite large however.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
This car doesn't have many gadgets to play with. however, the half digital dashboard is a nice touch as it shows the fuel and temperature gauges on a screen.
