    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Depreciated by only £600 over two years - bought for £2300.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

Cheap as chips to run, even around town. Pattern parts easy to find and cheap - newly refurbished radiator cost £150.

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comfortable to drive - predictable and surprisingly smooth for a lightweight car, although corner grip not great if pushed.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Quite punchy and responsive around town. Holds on motorways, but slow to accelerate. However, it did 1500 miles over two days in 2002 with no probs.

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Fantastic. The body will disappear before the engine knackers up. Radiator? - my fault, forgot water!

    Image

    1 out of 5 1.0

Not sexy, but to put in perspective, it beats a 10 year old Nissan Micra for a first car buy.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Dashboard quite modern for the car's age and easy to use. Seats not very ergonomic but satisfactory - expect some back stress on long journeys.

Very easy to steal, but no-one will ever try!
