Toyota Land Cruiser Estate (2009-2023) verdict
Should you buy one?
The Toyota Land Cruiser is difficult to recommend for the reasons most people buy seven-seat SUVs these days. While it’s large and practical for a family it’s also bulky, expensive, unsophisticated and so good off-road that it’s somewhat overkill for daily use.
But if you’re in need of the Land Cruiser’s talents it’s up there with our favourite models from Land Rover. No, it’s not quite as good to drive on tarmac, but it more than makes up for that with its legendary reliability and excellent warranty.
For our money, base-spec models make more sense – they miss out on a lot of equipment but are significantly cheaper. However, if you’re buying a Land Cruiser to double as a family car you may wish for the additional equipment of the top-spec Invincible.
