Toyota Land Cruiser 3.0 D-4D LC3 5d Auto (2004/54) Owner Review

Value
You get what you pay for - a good quality, reliable, go anywhere vehicle.
Costs
Higher fuel costs (averaging 33mpg 3.0 litre diesel) are offset by lower maintenance charges. I have experienced none of the hidden downtime costs and inconvenience often experienced by owners of other well known 4x4 brands.

Driving
Good all-rounder. Used on rural highways 90% and motorways 10%. Excellent tow vehicle and workhorse.
Performance
It's not a car - it's a cross between a people carrier and a tank and I love it! Perhaps some of the urbanised 4x4's (VW, BMW etc.) are better on tarmac, I would prefer to be in a Land Cruiser when the going gets tough!

Living with it
Reliability
Ultra-reliable - a rarity nowadays.
Image
Well known and respected in rural areas. Its image matches it's capabilities as a go anywhere, solid workhorse, with a touch of class!
Comfort
Creature comforts are well catered for. However the 4-speed auto makes you aware of the engine on kick-down.

Security and Service
Security
Immobilised, dead locked & alarmed.
Service
Excellent & friendly.
