Toyota MR2 GT Sports 2d (1991/H) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Expensive for age, but worth every penny.
Costs
Petrol consumption is fairly good and Toyota parts are generally reasonable. Costs will be far higher on import models.

On the road
Driving
Most 'fun' car I have ever driven. Steering has feel and cornering is exceptional. The engine is free-revving and sounds great. Suspension is a little hard, but that's part of the charm.
Performance
Performance in my GT model (158bhp) is excellent, although much of the power delivery occours after 4,000 revs. If you are after performance, then don't bother with the base model (119bhp).

Living with it
Reliability
At 12 years old, mine still starts every time and runs like new.
Image
Looks great and I constantly get positive comments about my car, helped by the fact that the new shape MR2 looks terrible.
Comfort
Not the most comfortable car by any means. The seats are ok, but suspension is hard.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm and immobiliser are standard on newer models, although it will be a target for thieves, so ensure that your precautions are adequate.
Service
Parts and service departments at my local Toyota are both friendly and helpful.
