Summary
What does this car say about you?
A Magnum wannabe - but also a hairdresser!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
A lot of looks. On my first drive out with the windows down I heard a young lad say to his Mum whilst crossing the road "Ferrari Mum!!" It was red i guess!
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. More power needed and didn't want an imported turbo version. It's the perfect car for many though.
What are you likely to buy next?
Jaguar X-Type 3.0 Sport

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
September 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
Such a great looking car for the money. Where else can you get a mid-engined rear wheel drive sports car that is as reliable as a swiss watch for the money!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Always wanted one!
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Absolutely great from a handling point of view. The closest thing to a go-kart in the bends and roundabouts. Don't lift off that throttle just throw it into the corner, flat out and have faith. It will stick with those wide low profile tyres, very low centre of gravity & near perfect weight distribution!! The only complaint is the power. This is like so many Japanese performance engines in that it is a bot gutless until screamed at high revs. The 170BHP is there but the torque is very low.
What's it like to park?
Great, never had any visibility issues. In fact easier to park than most cars.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Only the after market Thatham alarm. My local garage got locked out of the car with the engine running after it armed itself!
What's most practical about your car?
The boot!! One of the best kept secrets of the MR2 is its incredibly roomy boot!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Nothing really. In fact a lack of AC or CD player is a shame but understandable given the age of the cars.
