Summary
What does this car say about you?
Mid-life crisis I suppose, but I'm at an age where I don't really care what other people think. It certainly says that I've got an eye for a bargain.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
My wife loves it and prefers it to her Copen. My neighbour hasn't expressed an opinion, but then she's elderly with a Honda Jazz so she's hardly in a position to comment really.
Would you buy this car again and why?
If only - hopefully Toyota will make another one. If not, I'll have to sell a kidney and go for a Boxster; or join the masses with an MX5.
What are you likely to buy next?
Who knows - it depends on what's coming through the auctions. But I definitely won't be selling the MR2 any time soon.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£3,400
When did you buy the car?
November 2015
Did you get a good deal and why?
Auction purchase, so I was bidding against the dealers who all dropped out after the price went over their profit threshold. This was a genuine one-owner, low mileage example with loads of history.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I was at the auction and it was too good a deal to resist - plus I've always wanted one.
What was the dealer like?
British Car Auctions (Blackbushe) were great and very helpful.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's a lovely drive, very light and agile. It's not overly fast but it's a real fun car to throw about if you're that way inclined. It's really easy to get comfortable considering it's a small vehicle.
What's it like to park?
Rear visibility is a bit restricted with the hood up, but it's a small car and the steering it well assisted at low speed.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It needed a new battery but that's it so far, although it's a Toyota so I don't expect much to go wrong as long as I keep it well- maintained.
What's most practical about your car?
You don't buy an MR2 for practicality. The most practical thing is that it get's me from A to B with a smile on my face.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The optional Hard Top. It makes it look like a coupe and it's very handy in the cold weather.
