Summary
What does this car say about you?
Depends who you ask! I've had the usual hairdresser jokes, which I was always expecting. I would say that it says that I am knowledgeable about decent car manufacturers, and that I am happy to have the last laugh. Short back and sides?! Whatever - my car's great - poke your Corsa/Clio etc etc!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
As above. A mate has admitted that the reason he take's the p*ss is because he'd rather have it than what he drives. The wife has come around to my way of thinking and loves it too. You have to sell the romantic notion of roof down drives in the countyside with a picnic. Just don't tell her it'll have to be a Ginsters and a Melton Mowbray, as there's no room for sparkling Elderflower presse...
Would you buy this car again and why?
Definitely. The most fun car I've owned and good value for money.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something boring with a boot.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£4,500
When did you buy the car?
June 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
On the price of the car, yes. On the amount I received in part-exchange for my old car, no, but in the current climate that's to be expected I guess. On balance though, I walked away happy.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I fancied something different - something you don't see too many of on the road, something a bit fun before children are on the agenda!
What was the dealer like?
Very nice guy - previously worked for VW/Audi in main dealerships, but since gone independent.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Awesome fun. Every time I drive it it makes me happy. It's small, agile, and great around the corners. It's very low to the ground which, if you love driving as I do, makes the ride all that more enjoyable. The suspension is fairly stiff, which is to be expected in something like this, but all in all the ride is a lot of fun.
What's it like to park?
Piece of cake.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing at all. Can't fault it. Long may it continue.
What's most practical about your car?
Absolutely nothing, but that's why I love it. Most of the time it's just me in it, so who cares! There's very little storage space, but I use it mostly for commuting or going to see friends. Plenty of room on the passenger seat for a holdall and a sleeping bag. Anything more and we use the wife's Polo.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The hard-top, in my mind, is a must. It's great to have the soft-top in the summer months, but when it gets a bit cooler the hard-top is a real bonus. It gives you an added sense of security and, in my opinion, it looks good too.
