Toyota MR2 1.8 VVTi 2d (2002/52) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Outside fine, but dashboard trim is cheap and does rattle.
Costs
I had only had the 10k-mile intermediate service and that was £70, so good.

On the road
Driving
Great to drive, exactly why you buy one.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Not from what you would expect from a Toyota. I have had new alloys (corrosion), new front brake discs and hubs (corrosion), seemingly endless rattles to be fixed (6 times into the dealer to sort), touch up of missed painting and groaning steering colum.
Image
It certainly looks the part.
Comfort
Is noisy at speed, especially on poor road surfaces.

Security and Service
Security
Has everything that you would expect.
Service
The car's problems have all been fixed on warranty and Toyota insurance is excellent. However, when I wrote to Toyota to complain about the various problems, I was told in a roundabout and polite way 'tough'.
