Toyota MR2 1.8 VVTi 2d (2001/X) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Used are bargains. New ones lose value quite quickly.
Costs
Except for writeoff (and rear tires), this car is 'free' :-)

On the road
Driving
Compared to MX5, MG, S2000 etc, this car handles very well in its original setup. With new wheels, lowered suspension etc, it's only beaten by super 7.
Performance
142bhp and 930 kilos. It's not very impressive, but one gets by. A turbo-kit might fix this though.

Living with it
Reliability
Even if it's quite cool, it's still a Toyota under there. No problems at all.
Image
Quite nice, but some of the kits out there makes it even nicer, like the new 2003 mod.
Comfort
Even though the car is sporty, I don't need painkillers and a kidney-belt when driving this, even on the lousy roads of Norway. My old Audi S4 on the other hand...

Security and Service
Security
Well, it's got a couple of bags, but if you look closer where your feet are located, you will feel the front collision quite quickly I guess :-) But if you want to crash, why not buy a Gelenderwagon. :)
Service
Toyota is almost always very good at customer service, at least in Norway.
