Toyota RAV4 (2000 - 2005) 2.0 VX 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Very comfortable and well put together vehicle. Although older ones like mine will need parts replaced. Which can be very expensive. Petrol mpg is shocking. Wish there was a lpg conversion. But on the other end of the spectrum, I wish it was a V6.being black with black leather.that would be nice. Needs a 2 to 4wd switch. 4wd not needed on normal dry road driving. The 2.0 lt engine is very quick but watch that fuel gauge if your inner boy racer showes up. Chassis is very grippy.also very good off road.but choose your tyres carefully. I would buy same again but in diesel format. Twice the vehicle anything that landrover can muster. And forget your Chelsea tractor with the 20inch alloys. Get a Rav and a good set of tyres and run rings round these expensive trinkets. Look at the Suzuki shield and Jimmy or the 3Dr frontera for Lawson budget off roaders. But the Rav does both on and off road best of all. I love my rave.
How reliable do you find the car?
A few original serviceable items required replacing. However the price of non franchise parts are extremely expensive. Hand break replacement @500.00 Rear and center exhaust @450.00 Exhaust heat shield @150.00 Rear bumper reflector @31.00 Top suspension mounts and drop links fitted @350.00Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
With the rear seats clipped I get dogs, bikes, furniture, garden waste. Any thing and everything goes on the back. With large rubber mat covering complete boot floor and the interior plastic trim washable this machine is bloody awesomeAbout their car
