Toyota RAV4 (2006 - 2012) 2.2 D-4D XT5 5d Owner Review

Wish I'd bought one sooner, instead of 'making do' with the old car. With almost 160k on the clock, few other cars have given me the confidence that this one does in that not only will it get me where I want to go, no matter what the weather - but also get me safely home again. The smart 4wd system is a breeze, meaning in most circumstances you are in fwd mode, but when the going gets slippery, the rear axle comes into play and it's like driving on rails. Yes, it can be a little noisy as it's diesel, and the gearbox is somewhat notchy, but a very comfortable ride and those heated seats really do make for a sumptuous journey. Boot space is great, and for a mid-range car the rear legroom is amazing - even without the backrest reclined. The reversing sensors are a little temperamental but are easily switched off inside the boot.
