Summary
What does this car say about you?
Fairly sensible and practical but with an eye for quality and reliability.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Most do not comment. My elderly mother loves it!!
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. Doesn't have things which I now expect of a car in this price range - cruise control, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, electrically adjustable drivers seat. It also has some quirks like the issue with the dashboard and central display lighting being very, very dim when lights are on during the day time and the fact the indicator noise is so faint you cannot hear it over engine/road noise and so leave it on all the time - potentially dangerous in my view.
What are you likely to buy next?
Nissan Qashqai (probably a used +2).

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£21,500
When did you buy the car?
December 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Seemed a good deal - I got much more for my trade-in than I had expected and the monthly payments on a personal contract were OK for me.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
My previous car was a Verso and I loved it, so decided to try the newer model. There was also a good finance deal.
What was the dealer like?
Very good. Clean and comfortable showroom; attentive staff. The salesman didn't make me feel particularly special and seemed a bit over keen to close the deal.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Excellent overall performance. Gives some speedsters a shock on the motorway if I decide to put my foot down. Corners quite well for a tallish car but there is a fair bit of roll. Brakes are excellent. Too much road and wind noise for my liking though the engine is pretty quiet on the move. The car is an outstanding motorway cruiser though I'd prefer it to have cruise control as well as automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers which this model doesn't have - and for the price I would expect these.
What's it like to park?
It has a reversing camera but I had rear parking sensors fitted as an extra - they are really necessary in this car I think. It is generally very easy to park because the steering is exceptionally light.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Irritating vibration rattle has developed somewhere around the steering column in the last 3 months. Otherwise, everything has been absolutely fine.
What's most practical about your car?
Very good sized boot which will take two golf bags and two trolleys.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Sat Nav is good but I really hate the fact that if you need your lights on during the day the whole display goes so faint you can hardly see it. There is no adjustment to compensate for this.
