Summary
What does this car say about you?
Family man who likes a reliable, quality brand.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like its practical features but think its a bit dated.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes I would buy it again because of the Toyota build quality. I have no fear that this car will break down and leave my family and I stranded on the side of the road.
What are you likely to buy next?
Another 7 seater -VW or Toyota will make the short list because of their build quality. Look at how many 10 year old MPVs are on the road. You will not spot many Vauxhall Zifaras or Citreon C4 Grand Piccasos. I rest my case.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£14,250
When did you buy the car?
September 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, I wanted a year old car with low mileage. Car had to be a seven seater to accommodate the odd weekend trips with my family of 5 and my parents. It came down to the VW Touran or the Verso. The latter won because of the five year warranty. The Sharan and Ford Galaxy were too expensive.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
What was the dealer like?
Toyota salesman was very professional and provided an excellent service. I bought the car via a website and had it delivered but because I was dealing with a Toyota main dealer, I had every confidence.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
This is a nice car to drive, safe, reliable, comfortable. It's an MPV not a sports car so do not expect to beat anyone at the lights. I get 42 mpg on the motorway and 35 in town driving. Engine is very quiet. It cruises easily on the motorway even with seven passengers. I spend most of the time town driving and it's easy to handle and manoeuvre.
What's it like to park?
The rear camera really comes into its own when parking. Allows one the confidence to reverse into a tight spot. It's a fairly big car but the camera makes parking a breeze.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No, car is very smooth to drive. It's a Toyota which has a reputation for building quality vehicles so I do not expect anything to go wrong with it. I see lots of older models on the road so that's a good sign of reliability. The auto door lock comes on after a minute of driving. It can only be disabled by my switching off the car and taking my key out and unlocking the car. Very annoying when doing the school run. I think the car features need to be refreshed since many standard features in other cars are missing from this one. Namely: no cruise control, no automatic mirror adjustment when driving at night, no auto light on when going thru a tunnel, or driving at night, very few cubby holes for storing sunglasses and sweets etc.
What's most practical about your car?
I bought the car for the extra seats on the third row. I have only had to use them a few times but they come in very handy. Easy to put up and take down. When the third row seats are down, the boot is huge; I can easily carry three large suitcases.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The two extra third row seats come in very handy and are easy to put up and put down. The connection for the mp3 is also useful, but a little awkward to reach. The 12volt cigarette plug point on the second row is useful for the kids to plug in their DVD when going on long rides. The sat nav on the dash is also handy. The reversing camera is really useful when parallel parking.
