Overview
Toyota has limited the choice for buyers with one engine and two transmissions for the new Verso S which may come back to bite the maker because it has decided to launch the car only with a 1.33-litre petrol engine. There is scope to bring a diesel on board but Toyota believes that there will not be enough demand for it in the UK. The car is well packaged and there’s lots of space in the rear for passengers but does it have what it takes to be a proper rival to the mighty Vauxhall Meriva?
