In their own words
You could describe the Yaris Cross as either a big little car or little big car - a good compromise size.Very relaxing and enjoyable to drive, yet agile when it needs to be. My other car is a Celica, so a very different car.The Cross is nimble, has light steering at low speeds, iseconomical, and ideal for mixed town and country driving. We"re averaging 57.9 mpg over 1850 miles of driving since October (now January 2024), so mixed temperature conditions. Have had over 70mpg on runs to Southampton and Brighton.
CVT transmission works well and power change from electric to engine is seamless. Ride (on 16" wheels) is very slightly firm but not uncomfortably so. Braking and controls all good, rearview camera a boon for reversing.
We had a small issue with the 'temporary' position of the indicator stalk being a bit sticky when turning left, but fixed by the dealers by replacing the indicator stalk. Lots of tech, that takes a while to get under control, but then works well.
A genuinely pleasing car to drive with adequate boot space, room for 5 (at a push), good looks and a nicely elevated driving position. Recommended for this size of car.
