Toyota Yaris (1999 - 2005) 1.0 16v VVT-i GLS 5d Owner Review

Bought this car as a runaround and for that purpose it was great! The seats are versatile and it’s suprisingly nice to drive I wouldn’t say it was the last word in sophisticated handling but it was compotent enough when the roads got twisty and the digital gauge cluster is a nice touch I must say and the engine and gearbox can really take some abuse and return 40mpg easily Bad points: it’s VERY slow in 1.0 form if you do consider one of these, I’d urge you to buy the 1.3 Styling is subjective. I personally quite like the looks of these shape yarises (yarii?) but I can see why some people don’t. In summary if you need a cheap runaround that won’t let you down the Toyota Yaris is your go to. If you need a great first car, again I’d highly recommend it but take it from me, get the 1.3!!
